"The SPA's Got Talent" - featuring four wannabe judges. Carol as Amanda Holden, Janet B as Sharon Osbourne, Sadiq as Louis Walsh and Tony Milman as Piers Morgan! Rosemary Wilman will also be in attendance as Simon Cowell. The evening will be co-presented by Kath and Charles as Ant and Dec! [Also season 2016-2017 enrollment with subscriptions due.]

"Snap Happiness" - Gavin Hoey. Return of the much-enjoyed Gavin with a mix of photography and Photoshop with live demonstrations. Don't forget a notebook and pen!

From the vast rusting industrial remnants across Northern Europe to the crumbling villas and chapels of Italy and everything in between. The locations echo with whispered stories of their previous existences and the life that once filled them.

"Improving your Family Photography" - Bernie Raffe. A potpourri of tips, trick and ideas for taking great family photos. This is an entertaining, light-hearted, PowerPoint-based talk (with videos). Although aimed primarily at beginners and early intermediate photographers, it does contain a few nuggets for more experienced photographers. The emphasis is on light, composition, and posing, rather than camera settings.

"Alan's Fantastical Archive" - Alan Meeks. Have you ever wondered how many images and video sequences Alan has stored away? Have you been counting all the times he has been presenting them to us? Here's a chance to update your total. Welcome back to our very own Alan Meeks.

"Do You See What I See in Your Picture?" - Gordon Joslin. How does a photographer communicate? Why was a picture taken, what visual clues were observed and emotions stimulated? Why a picture fails! This is an interactive evening, you will need to bring a mounted print, or two.

"Travel Photography" - Peter Walmsley. Many of us practice travel photography in one form or another and there are many ways to go about it. One of our own avid travellers, Peter Walmsley, presents an evening of tips and techniques he's picked up along the way and invites the audience to share their experience. The evening will be illustrated with a number of Peter’s images, several of which have won awards in international competitions on the way to AFIAP distinction.

Finals Night. Social evening with entertainment and presentation of trophies and awards.

 

Members note for competitions: For Projected Digital Image competitions a zip file must be sent by email to the Internal Competition Secretary at least a week before the competition. For print competitions titles must be notified by email or an entry form given to Internal Competition Secretary at least a week before the competition. Full instructions and entry forms are downloadable from the Members Website by selecting "Club Documents" and then "Competition Entry Forms". Detailed Rules for all types of competitions and the Club Constitution are also on the Members Website.

 

Meetings are held at our regular venue on Wednesday evenings commencing at 7:45pm unless otherwise stated.

The club does not meet in the summer months of June, July, and August; although evening outings may be arranged at times and venues to be decided.

Next season commences on 6th September 2017.
